How to install Screenlets in Ubuntu

Screenlets brings mini apps(widgets) for Ubuntu desk. They are similar to Window Vista/7 widgets for desktop.

Screenlets provides widgets like:

  • CPU Meter
  • Clock
  • Notes
  • Window List
  • Mail check
  • And many more…
It uses Cairo and GTK2 for drawing and windowing.

These are “fully themeable mini-apps that each solve basic desktop-work-related needs and generally improve the usability and eye-candy of the modern composited Linux-desktop.”

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:screenlets/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install screenlets
