Stripe It Up!

I think stripes are a must have in every wardrobe. Stripes were spring 2013’s biggest trend on the runway. You can wear it in multiple ways; wear this trend in shirts, skirts, scarves, pants, blazers, bags, accessories, etc.

While wearing stripes just keep in mind that horizontal stripes stretch out your shape and will make you appear wider and shorter. On the other hand vertical stripes make your shape appear long and Lean. Bold stripes prints are a huge hit. Wider stripe appear bolder than small stripe. To pull off this trend without looking like a jail-bird read on :

Striped Tops: Button downs, tanks, t-shirts, tube tops, and halters. All these are available in different kind of stripes. A lot to experiment and choose from. As I told you earlier if you are skinny go for horizontal stripes and similarly if you are slightly on the heavier side go for vertical stripes.

Which one do you like? The buttoned down tucked shirt or the buttoned down un-tucked shirt look?

Striped Bottoms:
Suits, trousers, wide-leg pants, palazzo pants, skirts, and shorts. You can find all these in different style stripes. Be it vertical, horizontal, diagonal or zigzag, bold stripes or thin stripes there are so many to choose from. My favorite is blue and white stripes on a sleeveless top. You need to play with stripes and colors to find what suites you best.

Striped Dresses:
Striped dresses look great. Especially color blocking works wonderfully well for this trend even the classic black and white is a great trend this season.

Striped Accessories: scarves, belts, hats, bags and so many other accessories are great way to flaunt this trend. When wearing striped accessories like hat, bag or a scarf make it an only statement piece!

Tip: While stripes are a wonderful trend to play with, if you wear more than one piece at a time you can end up looking like a jail-bird. It’s a no-no unless you know how to pull it off.
